Paintworks Wedding

When it comes to weddings, size really isn’t important.  Elina and Alon had their reception at the Bocabar at Bristol’s Paintworks with only about 20 guests and yet their wedding was full to the brim of  everything that a wedding should have.

I don’t think it matters if you have 15 or 215 guests, the overriding sentiments are still the same.  The importance of love, friendship and happiness don’t alter as a factors of how big the wedding is. In fact there’s something quite special about a smaller wedding, as a photographer there really is no place for me to hide, I think this brings an honesty and an intimacy to the photographs.

I loved photographing Elina and Alon, they were so happy for me to photograph the day as I saw it. The trust they had in me as their photographer and the emotional openness they had with each other while being photographed made everything so genuine and real. What an amazing day.  Many many congratulation Elina and Alon.

I also thought it would be nice to share a few kinds words from Elina and Alon about being photographed on their wedding day:

 When we decided on details of the wedding, we knew that the most important part of it should be the photographer, as the day will pass, but the memories will stay. We wanted our special day to be very relaxed, effortless, flowing and intimate, and it was important to us that everyone felt at ease.

Even though we weren’t exactly sure where the day might take us, Brett had so many wonderful ideas that we immediately knew we were in good hands. He blended in so perfectly, it felt as if we were all in one big family, all the guests and kids loved him.

When we saw the photos we were stunned.

He noticed so many great moments which we wouldn’t know were there if not for him! The photos captured the the essence of the day and all the feelings involved, whenever we look at them it brings back so many great memories.
