Langshott Manor Wedding
Susie & Dan | Langshott Manor Wedding
I love this picture above.
That might not sound like too much of a big deal but please believe me it is. I actually find it quite hard to like the pictures I take let alone love them. I don’t say this as some sort of mock martyrdom in the hope that you’ll all rush to my defence and tell me how great all my pictures are, although you are more than welcome to if you feel so inclined. It’s more that with pictures I take, the magic is revealed to me, I know exactly how they were taken, there’s no mystery. I am also unfortunately highly critical of my own work and concentrate far to heavily on what could make the picture even better rather than what is already great about it.
So what is is about this picture?
Firstly and very importantly it is of Susie & Dan and they are a pretty amazing couple. They are the sort of people that make me love my job. They are kind, generous, totally in love and trusted me enough to allow me to get some great photos of them. I vividly remember taking this pictures, it was a beautiful evening and the sun was perfect but dropping fast, I had about a 10min window of opportunity BUT everyone was still very much enjoying their food. I don’t make a habit of disturbing people during their meal but I had spoken to Susie & Dan earlier in the day about some sunset shots and they said to just come and grab them. So grab them I did. We were left with just a little strip of sun in the garden, so without wasting any time I put Susie and Dan in the sunlight and it looked amazing, there was genuinely little left for me to do but take the picture.
I seldom if ever show people the pictures on the back of my camera during a wedding, I just don’t have the time to keep on showing anyone and everyone the pictures and also I kind of like it being a bit of a surprise for when I send them a link to their gallery. In this instance I instantly liked the picture, I didn’t yet love it, and thought Susie and Dan would really like it so decided to show it to them. I can still hear Susie’s wonderful yelp of pure excitement when I showed her the picture. It was such a magical reaction to one of my pictures and that is why I love this picture.
And here’s a few more pictures from their amazing day
