Highcliffe Castle Wedding
Sarah & Robin | Highcliffe Castle
I’ve always wanted to photograph a wedding at Highcliffe Castle. Not because of the castle itself, although it is undeniably impressive, but it was the beach that lay a few hundred yards away that always captured my imagination. I just think there’s something so romantic and beautiful about photographs of brides set against natural backdrops, whether that be a field, a woodland or in this case a beach.
I’m not going to give a typically blow by blow account of Sarah & Robin’s day as I genuinely hope these pictures can do that but I did want to take a little time to say say a couple of things.
Firstly, and I really hope I don’t embarrass Sarah by saying this, Sarah has got to be one of the easiest brides I have ever photographed. And when I say easy, I mean the way she responded to being photographed, the way she held herself, the way she would glance at the camera or at Robin. It was an absolute dream and allowed me to completely concentrate on the light and the composition. There was never any awkwardness or embarrassment from either Robin or Sarah while I photographed them. They were just very at ease with each other and being themselves in front of me and my camera.
I also wanted to thank Sarah & Robin enormously for making these photos happen. It goes without saying that everyone wants great pictures of their day but Sarah & Robin made a point of telling me just how important the pictures were to them and that they were more than happy to alter timings etc to accommodate this. To this effect I think the pictures down on the beach were taken while pudding was being served. Sometimes there is a very small window of time when the light is perfect and thankfully Sarah & Robin were happy to grasp that opportunity with both hands. I hasten to add that I pride myself in typically taking my pictures while the day naturally unfolds but in this instance I’d already had the discussion that if the time was right to come and grab them.
Thank you both so much, these pictures wouldn’t have happened without you both being such great sports and placing enormous trust in me and my photography. I love these pictures and think you both look so natural , relaxed and stunning.
This was your day.
