It’s a strange feeling, the feeling of metaphorically ‘putting a year to bed’. It’s part and parcel of the process of collating these images that they make me look back on my year both professionally and personally. I know I should keep things light & breezy and not too ‘heavy’ on my blog for fear putting off potential clients but everything would just feel so false if I didn’t speak from my heart and be true to myself. Being brutally honest, it has been a tragic year for me and my family, 2015 started off with the most unexpected family bereavement. It was totally devastating and continues to be something that we are struggling to come to terms with. Grief is such an unwelcome visiter and continues to outstay it’s welcome. Time doesn’t unfortunately seem to be a great healer and I know we still have some very difficult times ahead of us but I’m optimistic and I’m already looking forward to 2016 and the adventures ahead.
I feared that being amongst people celebrating one of the most joyous days of their life might have been hard but actually it’s been enormously therapeutic being at all these amazing weddings in 2015. After all it’s all about love and friendship…and I don’t just mean weddings but life in general. I have been truly overwhelmed by the kindness and support that I have been shown this year by friends helping us through this tragedy. I’ve been particularly touched by the kindness shown by those couples who’s weddings I’ve been photographing who don’t really even know me or my family. You have all been amazing and I am eternally grateful. Faith in mankind has been fully restored. Thank you.
So here are my favourite pictures from the year.
