Sarah + Dan | Pre-Wed
I can always tell I’m busy if I hadn’t had the time to blog a pre-wed shoot yet I’ve already shot the wedding. Oh well, that’s just part and parcel of how busy this summer wedding ‘season’ is.
I don’t mind saying that this shoot was a bit experimental. I typically favour fields and woodlands for most of my pre-wed shoots but this time I thought I’d change things up a bit. I spoke to Sarah & Dan before hand and asked if they wanted to go the tradional route and do their shoot in the amongst trees and greenery or should we go a bit ‘gritty’.
I was so delighted that they chose gritty. It helped take me out of my comfort zone and this is when I think I make my best pictures. And after all there’d be plenty of time for beautiful, natural shots at their wedding.
I love these pictures of Sarah & Dan, even more so now that I feel I know them better from their wedding day, I think they genuinely are a bit different to the pre-weding portraits I have been shooting but different in a really good way. The shoot itself was quite an adventure as well, we were even treated to a little bit of street magic (I use the terms very loosely as I think he failed to pick the cars that Dan had chosen).
And to Sarah & Dan, thanks so much for being brave and choosing gritty. You Rock! (I can’t wait to blog your wedding)
